How to use version history?
Version history is part of the Team plan. Each time you save a mockup you created, Mockuuups keeps the previous version so you can look back and restore it. Versions are saved automatically, so you don't need to do anything.
Opening version history
Version history appears once a mockup has at least one earlier version.
On the web: Open your mockup. In Mockup Details under the main preview, find the Version history row and click Show versions.
In the plugins and desktop app: Open your mockup, click Edit Mockup at the top right, and choose Version history. If there are no earlier versions of the mockup, the option stays greyed out.
Browsing versions
The previews are on the left and the list of versions is on the right. The oldest version is at the top and the current one is at the bottom, marked Current. Each version shows who saved it and when.
To move between versions:
- Click a version in the list, or click a preview behind the front one.
- Use the Older and Newer buttons next to the preview.
- Press the Up and Down arrow keys, or Page Up and Page Down.
Previews use a sample screen, not your own design, so you can compare the mockup itself.
Restoring a version
- Select the version you want to go back to.
- Click Restore this version.
That version becomes the new current version. The version it replaced stays in history, so you can undo a restore by restoring that one.
Good to know
- Versions are never deleted.
- A version saves the mockup itself: devices, background, layout, canvas size, and title. Your imported designs are not part of a version and stay as they are when you restore.
- Version history is only for mockups you created. Teammates can't see or restore your versions.
- Duplicate creates a separate mockup with its own history, starting empty.
- Changes saved before you joined a Team plan aren't in history.
- If your Team plan ends, version history is no longer shown and new saves aren't recorded. Earlier versions are kept and come back if you return to a Team plan.
- Only edits to mockups made after September 2026 have been saved in this new versioning system.
